Chiropractic Care

Partner with chiropractors in our Gainesville clinic and find treatment for conditions that cause you pain. We may use a manual or mechanic approach for conducting the following procedures:

Spine Alignment

A misaligned spine can result from falls, sports injuries, and repetitive stress. While some accidents can result in minor injuries, other incidents can cause significant trauma on your spine and twist it out of position. Undergoing a spine alignment treatment will adjust specific areas on your back to reduce pain and ensure that your body returns to its healthy state.

Hip Alignment

Misaligned hips can be caused by doing everyday activities improperly. Carrying a heavy bag on one shoulder, not wearing proper shoes for vigorous exercises, and distributing weight unevenly on your legs can cause your hips to become misaligned. Chiropractic care can help reposition your hips to reduce discomfort and improve flexibility.

Spinal Traction

Spinal traction can treat various conditions like sciatica and herniated discs. This procedure takes the pressure off your compressed discs by stretching the spine. Straightening the muscles also promotes a quick recovery. This treatment can be performed manually or with the use of a tool.

Rehabilitation

Return to your pre-injury lifestyle through our rehabilitation services. LifeClinic of Gainesville can address pain from an accident or medical condition.

Accident Injury Rehabilitation

Accidents can leave serious physical injuries that can drastically affect one’s quality of life. These accidents can cause fractures, limb loss, and severe wounds and trauma. Our accident injury rehabilitation can help patients ease their way back to normal and regain their strength.

Sports Injury Rehabilitation

Athletes are continually building their form so they can be in the best condition whenever they compete. However, this constant training can cause various injuries due to improper posture, warm-up, and technique. Sports injury rehabilitation aims to prevent various conditions like sprains, strains, and tears from worsening so players can get back to shape.

Work Injury Rehabilitation

Various accidents may happen while at your workplace. Depending on the nature of your work, you may have heavy equipment dropped on your feet, fall down a flight of stairs, or experience repetitive stress on your limbs. Our work injury rehabilitation can help treat musculoskeletal complications from these accidents. We will help you get back to work as quickly as possible.

Pre- and post-operative Care

If another healthcare provider recommends surgery, patients should inform their LifeClinic medical team. Undergoing chiropractic care before your surgery can help minimize or eliminate pain before undergoing the procedure.

A few months after their surgery, patients may also receive chiropractic as post-operative care. Their post-surgery recovery options will depend on the current state of their condition. They may undergo physical therapy and massage techniques to help quicken their recovery period.

Special Services

Apart from chiropractic care and rehabilitation services, LifeClinic of Gainesville, Virginia, also uses specialized tools in helping achieve your desired goals.

NormaTec Compression

NormaTec uses specialized attachments for massaging your legs, arms, and hips. It uses patented massage patterns with compressed air on your limbs to speed up your recovery. Athletes often undergo NormaTec treatments to keep their legs and other limbs fresh and limber for competition.

A typical NormaTec session begins with a pre-inflate cycle where the attachments are molded to fit the limbs and proceeds to massage them in a pulse-then-release pattern.

Hydromassage

This form of water massage uses pressurized jets of hot water that move up and down your body. The temperature of the water can range anywhere from 90 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. Hydromassage improves blood circulation and heart function, reduces joint and muscle pain, and solves sleep problems.

Theragun Compressive Therapy

Theragun Therapy uses a massage device to treat muscle pains and soreness. The pressure can go as deep as 16mm and produce as much as 2400 pulses per minute.  This deep muscle treatment can break up scar tissue, release muscle spasms, and make one’s recovery more efficient and effective.

Conditions We Treat

Our Gainesville clinic can manage various conditions that are causing you pain. We will first observe your symptoms and let you undergo specific tests that can help us determine your current health state. We can treat various complications, such as the following:

Lower Back Pain

Lower back pain happens in the lumbar region or just below the ribcage. Patients often complain of a dull ache that makes it hard for them to move around. These pains can be from lifting heavy objects or falling from a significant height. Chiropractic adjustments target the affected area on your back to reduce possible inflammation and movement restrictions.

Growing Pains

This condition is most commonly experienced by children aged 2 to 12. Growing pains are often felt on the legs, shins, calves, and muscles behind the thighs. These pains can last from 10 minutes to hours. Chiropractors can examine a child’s spine and see if any issues are causing pain and discomfort.

Scoliosis

The irregular sideways curvature of your spine is known as scoliosis. This condition often first appears during childhood or teenage years. The curve must measure more than 10 degrees to be considered as scoliosis. Chiropractic care aims to achieve structural curvature reduction while decreasing pain. Some chiropractors can also recommend the regular use of a brace for more severe cases of scoliosis to help correct one’s posture.

What to Expect

1 Examination

During your 1st visit, our providers will hear the story of what brings you in, perform a new patient examination to determine the root cause of your problem, and briefly summarize what was found.

The examination consists of motion tests, palpation, reflex testing, and muscle strength, to help identify dysfunction in movement patterns and poor muscle engagement.

2 Report Of Finding

During your second visit, your provider will recap what was found in the examination, discuss a solution, review what your personal contribution to care will be, and begin treatment on that day.

3 Daily Appointments

On each subsequent visit, our providers will perform routine assessments to ensure you are track with your treatment plan and provide treatment.

Treatment visits typically consist of a combination of:

  • Chiropractic Adjustments: restores, maintains, and optimizes human function by eliminating interference within the joint and soft tissue thus restoring the synergy between your joints, nerves, and muscles. Chiropractic adjustments are only available during sessions with a chiropractor.
  • Integrated Muscle and Joint Therapy (IMJT): an advanced, active form of soft tissue treatment that effectively integrates the mind, muscular, skeletal, and neurological systems to achieve optimum balance throughout the body. IMJT is a patented technique available exclusively at LifeClinic.
  • Rehabilitation: carefully selected exercises and activities used in a specific sequence in order to reinforce changes made with the adjustment and IMJT. Rehabilitation retrains the body’s “movement habits.”
