Chiropractic Care

LifeClinic of Allen, Texas, treats your musculoskeletal conditions through various methods and techniques. Our certified chiropractors are capable of doing any or a combination of the following procedures:

Hip Alignment

The joints in our hips can withstand a lot of stress and repetitive motion. However, they can start to weaken over time due to constant pressure or aging. Your knees, shoulders, lower back, and ankles can begin to hurt due to misaligned hips.

Normal hip alignment is based on observation and measurement since it varies from one person to another. Your doctor may check if your pelvis is parallel to your shoulders and the ground. They will also assess if your hips are even and not tilting forwards or backward. Our doctors may use manual therapy, core-strengthening exercises, lifestyle adjustments, and splints to treat your condition.

Tailbone Adjustment

The tailbone or coccyx is located at the bottom part of your spine. It supports and stabilizes one’s posture when sitting or leaning back. However, it can experience excess pressure due to improper posture, irritating or damaging the ligaments around it. Coccyx complications may result from a fall or after vaginal childbirth. Our tailbone adjustment procedures realign the coccyx to reduce pain.

Diet & Nutritional Counselling

Our chiropractic care services also provide holistic care not just for the symptoms of a specific complication but for your entire body. We also take into account your diet and nutritional needs along with specific exercises. Our team of chiropractors will prescribe you a health plan to ensure that your body receives its much-needed nutrients for a swift recovery.

Sports Injury Rehabilitation

Many athletes, professionals or not, are at risk of injuries during training, competitions, and other fitness activities. It can be caused by several factors such as poor posture, inadequate warm-ups, muscle and joint overuse, dehydration, and improper use of equipment. Patients may be prescribed to rest and forego future games and competitions to avoid worsening their injury.

Our sports injury rehabilitation offers personalized and comprehensive care. We will help you cope with your sports injury, prevent a recurrence, and help you get back to the field or court.

Work Injury Rehabilitation

An employee who has an accident at work can become inefficient in delivering results. They can take a lot of time and exert more energy in getting their job done.

Work injury rehabilitation helps employees remain engaged at work by assisting them to return to their pre-injury state. Patients can expect modifications or restrictions to their job tasks, minimal disruption to their social and working life, and reduced discomfort so they can recover faster.

Pre- and post-operative Care

Our Allen chiropractic clinic provides holistic care for our patients. We offer pre-operative care to prepare their minds and body for surgery and post-operative care to ensure that they are on the right path to recovery after the procedure.

Have your pain and discomfort treated by our chiropractors here at LifeClinic of Allen. We offer chiropractic care and rehabilitation services to help manage various complications, including the following:

Herniated Discs

Spinal discs act as cushions for each vertebra in your spinal column. When a fragment of this disc is pushed out of its outer layer and into the spinal canal, they become herniated, bulged, or ruptured. Herniated discs also indicate an early stage of degeneration. They occur in any part of the spine but are most common in the lower back area. A common cause of this condition comes from fully flexing or extending the spine repeatedly or for prolonged periods.

Shoulder Impingement

The shoulder is made up of several joints to enable a wide range of motion. Shoulder impingement happens when your rotator cuff rubs between the humerus and the top outer edge of your shoulder. It is commonly caused by the overhead activity of the shoulder or movements that require repetitive motion such as painting, lifting, and playing sports.

Bursitis

Bursa sacs can be found all over the body and cushion or ease friction between bones, muscles, tendons, and skin. Excessive pressure or irritation can cause bursitis or the inflammation or irritation of the bursa sac. This condition can be sudden or develop over time due to repetitive motions or positions. It can also be caused by sitting on hard surfaces for extended periods. Bursitis occurs in various parts of your body with bursa sacs like the shoulder, elbows, knees, hips, and buttocks.

What to Expect

1 Examination

During your 1st visit, our providers will hear the story of what brings you in, perform a new patient examination to determine the root cause of your problem, and briefly summarize what was found.

The examination consists of motion tests, palpation, reflex testing, and muscle strength, to help identify dysfunction in movement patterns and poor muscle engagement.

2 Report Of Finding

During your second visit, your provider will recap what was found in the examination, discuss a solution, review what your personal contribution to care will be, and begin treatment on that day.

3 Daily Appointments

On each subsequent visit, our providers will perform routine assessments to ensure you are track with your treatment plan and provide treatment.

Treatment visits typically consist of a combination of:

  • Chiropractic Adjustments: restores, maintains, and optimizes human function by eliminating interference within the joint and soft tissue thus restoring the synergy between your joints, nerves, and muscles. Chiropractic adjustments are only available during sessions with a chiropractor.
  • Integrated Muscle and Joint Therapy (IMJT): an advanced, active form of soft tissue treatment that effectively integrates the mind, muscular, skeletal, and neurological systems to achieve optimum balance throughout the body. IMJT is a patented technique available exclusively at LifeClinic.
  • Rehabilitation: carefully selected exercises and activities used in a specific sequence in order to reinforce changes made with the adjustment and IMJT. Rehabilitation retrains the body’s “movement habits.”
